Regarding Thing 5 of the Skokie Ten.
I’m a big fan of Flickr and have been using it for awhile now. I use it for my personal photos but I also helped create and maintain the Flickr account at my former job. I think it’s a great tool for libraries and wish we were doing more to take advantage of our Skokie account. There are a lot of creative ways for libraries to use Flickr, but some of the best ways include promoting events and programs, showcasing new additions to the collection (Nice job, Toby 
), and offering a virtual tour of the building.
I’d love to see something on our library website that points people to the library’s photos on Flickr. We have some nice photo sets and it seems a shame to not promote the Flickr account on the website. Maybe a simple Flickr badge (see sidebar) or a full-scale slideshow, or something like this (mouse over the right side of the slideshow to move the slideshow)…
