Every three years my library comes up with a new strategic plan. This year, my director asked me to lead the planning process, and it ended up being one of the more enjoyable things I’ve experienced since I started my career. What I loved most about it are the conversations that took place with our community and staff. I felt like people really opened up about their aspirations for the community, and we took those to design a vision, mission, core values, and strategic goals that fit what our community and the library need at this point in time.
For those of you who are into reading strategic plans from other organizations (I know you’re out there), feel free to take a look at our Strategic Plan 2016-2019.
And don’t forget to let me know what you think!
